About CallItPoll
See what the world thinks about live sports and global events, with no sign-up.
CallItPoll is a small, independent site for quick public votes on things happening right now: matches that are on, questions in the news, and polls that visitors create themselves. You pick a side and immediately see how everyone else voted, including which countries are backing which option.
How it works
- Vote. Tap an option on any poll. There is no account, no email and no password.
- See the world. Every poll shows the split between options, how many votes there are, how many countries they came from, and a per-country breakdown ("Supporters by country").
- Live, Final, Archive. A match shows as Live once it kicks off. When it ends, the poll closes and shows the actual result next to how people voted. Finished polls stay on the results archive for good.
- Create your own. Make a poll in a few seconds and share the link. Unlisted polls are only reachable by their link.
One vote per IP address
The only rule is one vote per IP address, per poll. That keeps voting open to everyone while making it much harder to stuff a poll from a single device. Your IP address is turned into a salted hash before it is stored, so we never keep it in plain text and it cannot be turned back into your address. The privacy policy explains this in full.
Because the rule is based on IP addresses, it has limits you should know about:
- Shared networks. Offices, schools, universities and some mobile carriers put many people behind one IP address. On those networks only one person can vote on each poll.
- Determined cheating is still possible. Someone who changes network or uses a VPN can vote again. Treat results as a fun, live snapshot of opinion, not a scientific survey.
- Country is approximate. It comes from the network you connect from, so travellers and VPN users can appear in a different country.
Where polls and results come from
- Sports fixtures come from the public TheSportsDB feed. Final scores come from the same feed once a match is over.
- World events come from public news feeds and from open prediction-market listings. When a market settles, the poll closes with that outcome. CallItPoll does not run any betting or trading.
- Visitor polls are written by visitors. Results for these are set by hand when there is a clear answer, and some simply stay open.
- Nothing is invented: if a result is not available from a feed, the poll stays open until we can confirm it.
How much to trust the numbers
A result backed by one or two votes is not "the world's" opinion, so we label it. Finished polls with fewer than 5 votes are marked as an early result; from 5 votes they read "how voters called it", and from 20 votes "how the world voted". The "the world called it right / got this one wrong" verdict, and the running crowd record on the archive, only count polls with at least 10 votes and a clear favourite.
