CallItPoll ("we," "us") runs callitpoll.com, a public site for voting on global events and sports fixtures. This page explains what information we collect, what we don't, and how third-party advertising works on the site.
Information we collect directly
- Your IP address - used only to enforce one vote per event and to show an approximate country in results. It is hashed (HMAC-SHA256, with a secret salt) before storage; we never store your IP address in plain text, and the hash cannot be reversed back into an IP address.
- Approximate country - derived from your IP address (or your network's country signal, if you arrive via a reverse proxy that provides one) at the moment you vote. Shown only as part of aggregated per-country results, never tied to any other identifying information.
- Your vote choice and poll content you submit - if you vote, we record which option you picked. If you create a poll, we store the title, options, and any description or link you provide. Don't include anyone else's personal information in a poll you create.
We do not use accounts, passwords, names, or email addresses anywhere on the site, and we do not set any cookies of our own.
Advertising and cookies
We show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet, and to measure ad performance. We do not control these cookies and do not receive the information they collect.

How long we keep information
Hashed IP records are kept as long as needed to enforce the one-vote-per-event rule for that event. Poll titles, options, and vote tallies are kept indefinitely as the public content of the service, since they're the aggregated results the site exists to show - they are not personal information once separated from any hash.
Your choices
Because we don't use accounts, we generally cannot look up "your" data on request - we have no way to connect a hashed record back to a specific visitor. If you created a poll and want it removed, or have another privacy request, contact us using the details below and we'll do what we reasonably can.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable law (for example, the GDPR in the EU/UK or state privacy laws in the US) to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request.
Children's privacy
CallItPoll is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the update.
